The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is spiralling into chaos. More than a dozen United Nations (UN) peacekeepers have been killed in a dangerous escalation of a violent conflict, driven by a group of Rwandan-backed rebels called ‘M-23.’ The rebels are now encroaching on a provincial capital, and it’s deepening an already deadly humanitarian crisis.
